How Much Will it Cost?

You will be charged two types of costs:

a) Professional Costs

• As a Seller, your conveyancing cost for professional conveyancing is usually less than the Buyer’s costs, because there’s more work to do than when you buy.

• If there is no Mortgage and you are selling, then your costs will likely be less than if there was a Mortgage – again because there is less work to do.

• Every conveyancing business will structure their prices and costs differently so that is why it is advisable to get quotes.

b) Out of Pocket Expenses (also called “disbursements”)

• Certain government department documents and other official enquiries will need to be made as part of the conveyancing process. (See Monkey's Buying Guide and Monkey's Selling Guides for more information.)

• Some companies may also charge for postage, photocopying, telephone call costs and sundries. Ask them upfront what your costs will include and if does include sundries; ask them for an estimate of these costs.
